About

TorqueMath makes free calculators for people who design, build and repair machines: mechanics, machinists, engineers, farmers, makers and students.

Every calculator uses the full formula rather than a rule-of-thumb shortcut, follows the relevant ISO, DIN, ANSI or AGMA standard, and is checked against published reference examples before it goes live. Each page lists its formulas so you can check the result yourself.

Results are for planning and learning. For safety-critical parts, lifting gear and anything that can hurt people, confirm the design with the component maker's data and a qualified engineer.
